Several Ugandan trendsetters in private, public, philanthropy and life time categories were awarded and recognized for their excellence, innovation impact and transformation.
The awards and recognition were handed over at Sheraton hotel in Kampala during the 7th business Trendsetters forum expo and awards gala under the theme people, purpose and artificial intelligence in business
Mercy Kainobwisho was recognized for transforming Uganda's business and intellectual property landscape, driving digitalization and positioning Uganda as a regional hub for innovation.
Drake Ssekeba, the veteran journalist who formerly worked with WBS television was recognized with lifetime achievement award for his works and professionalism.
The Ganda boys were recognized for blending folk tradition with European orchestral and percussion arrangements while using music to support education, healthcare and refugee initiatives.
Proffesor Lawrence Muganga was recognized for and awarded for revolutionizing education in Uganda with the emphasis on the use of artificial intelligence to create impact and encourage business to embrace artificial intelligence in their business dealings.
While speaking at the forum Mercy Kainobwisho challenge the business people to embrace artificial intelligence and innovation.
"Artificial intelligence is that intelligence that you use to move from point A to Z, how are you using Artificial intelligence to promote your business matters, some are using it for business and others are using it for destruction,” said Mercy Kainobwisho the Registrar general of Uganda registration services bureau.
"We usually look and focus on somebody who is impacting the youth in your area of expertize whether you're a doctor, lawyer,” said Yvonne Mpanga the proprietor of Business Trendsetters forum.
"Our greatest mission is to inspire the next generation through the transformation power of music, culture and heritage,” said Ganda boys.
The business Trendsetters forum seeks together with other like minded organizations to encourage business synergies, networking, guide young entrepreneurs in the discovery of untapped ideas and set trends in respective industries, encourage value addition through partnership and joint ventures.
