Chinese automobile manufacturer Jetour Group has officially entered the Ugandan market.
The launching event held on 26th September, 2025 at Kampala Serena hotel featured the unveiling of Jetour's new SUV models, the Dashing and X 70 plus to the public.
Al Mamoun East Africa, known for its significant investments in Sudan, South Sudan, the UAE, and beyond has announced its appointment as the exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Uganda, with a showroom and aftersales service center located in Namanve.
The company also announced that it will add the Jetour T2 to its fleet by the end of the year.
Speaking at the event, Moses Kaggwa, Ag. Director, Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development hailed the arrival of Jetour in Uganda as a timely boost to the country’s industrial and economic agenda.
“I thank you for investing in our economy and creating employment for many Ugandans.
We pledge to support you,” Kaggwa noted.
Jetour Group, founded in 2018 under the Chery Holding Group, has rapidly grown into a global brand known for its broad range of SUVs combining modern design, comfort, and value.
According to its official profile, Jetour aims to deliver “good life cars” that respond to contemporary consumer demands for travel, performance, and distinctive style.
Building a case for the Jetour vehicles, the Chief Operating Officer, Zein Abdelmutaal implored Ugandans to buy brand new vehicles adding that the line-up captures what Ugandans are looking for: value, stylish design, strong performance, safety, and comfort.
“We are fully committed to investing in aftersales support, availing spare parts and building solid channels so that maintaining a Jetour in Uganda is easy.”
Richard Bamujje, Sales Manager, described the DASHING and X70 Plus as powerful, all-terrain, off-road vehicles crafted to deliver a safe, smooth, and exhilarating driving experience.
“Uganda’s automotive sector has for years lacked variety and dependable solutions.
With Jetour, we are filling that gap.
From individuals seeking premium SUVs, to corporate fleet managers looking to lower operational costs, we are offering vehicles that combine quality, efficiency, and value,” said Bamujje.
With the unveiling of DASHING—a compact but bold SUV—and the more spacious, feature-rich X70 Plus, Jetour enters the Ugandan market with a strong promise: affordable performance, modern styling, and a commitment to local support.
The T2, expected later this year, will expand the range further.
Chinese automotive brands have made significant strides in the global market, driven by competitive pricing, advanced technology, and strong local demand.
In Europe, Chinese brands doubled their market share in the first half of 2025, reaching 5.1%.
This global expansion underscores China's growing influence in the automotive industry.
